House Rules

  • No additional guests beyond those specified at the time of booking:
    • If you need to adjust who is attending/coming, please let us know in advance. We are very happy to make adjustments and understand that plans change, but need to know who is staying at our cottage.
  • Respect our neighbours:
    • Keep the volume down! No parties, shouting or loud music, please.
    • Make sure not to block any of our neighbour’s properties with your vehicles or watercraft – only use our cottage’s off-road parking.
  • Well-behaved dogs are very welcome – we’re dog lovers!
    • You must clean up after your dogs.
    • Don’t let them wander onto our neighbour’s properties.
  • No smoking indoors (including cannabis and vapes).
    • Please use the supplied ashtrays and do not leave your cigarette butts anywhere on the property.
  • Leave the cottage as you found it and tidy up when you leave.
    • Bag your trash in the clear bags provided and sort your recycling.
    • Protect our river and local wildlife – make sure nothing is left in the water.
    • Take good care of our home and belongings.
    • Don’t take anything home with you that doesn’t belong to you.
  • Check and abide by the ‘burn ban’ rules in place for Kawartha Lakes during the dates of your visit.
    • No fires are allowed when it’s dry season and a burn ban is in place.
    • No fires allowed during the month of April – this is an annual burn ban for the Kawartha Lakes region.
    • Strictly no fireworks, lanterns, or candles.
  • You are fully responsible for the health and safety of yourself and other guests, including children and pets, and your belongings:
    • Children and animals must be supervised at all times.
    • Behave in a safe and responsible manner, and be cautious around the water.

Terms of Booking

50% deposit must be paid immediately in order to confirm your booking and reserve your dates. Your booking is not confirmed until you have paid the deposit, and signed and returned the rental agreement.

The 50% deposit is non-refundable. We have to book and pay for cleaners etc far in advance and they have a no-cancellation policy.

You must pay the remaining 50% on or before your arrival date.

You must check out before 10 am EST on your day of check-out. Our cleaning team will arrive at this time to complete the turnover.

You are fully responsible for the health, wellbeing, and safety of yourself and other guests, including children and pets, your belongings, and to ensure that all guests act in a safe and responsible manner.
